In addition to their main objective of providing healthy and fresh produce to residents of the local community, the people of the Ottawa Good Food Box engage in a variety of activities to improve the health and nutrition of their neighbours in the community.
Upcoming special events are always announced in our newsletter (included with your Good Food Box, and available on-line), and on our website.
Good Food Box volunteers are always available to give overview presentations about the program. To request a presentation, please visit our Contacts page.
Where would we be if we couldn’t prepare the wonderful produce that we buy through the Good Food Box program? The Good Food Box shows you how at demonstrations held at the Centretown Community Health Centre.
To find out when the next demonstration will be held, please give us a call or send us an email using our Contacts page.
The food that we provide in a Good Food Box is always fresh and healthy. But a well-rounded diet needs more than just fruit and vegetables. The folks at the Good Food Box want to ensure their neighbours are eating well, whatever their requirements may be.
We’ve done workshops on “Eating Well with Diabetes”, “Pre-natal Nutrition”, and more. Keep an eye open for our next workshop.
Good Food in Schools provides a series of workshops for parents and students. We work with schools to organize the program and offer a survey to families that will help determine the nutritional needs and interests of the community.
