I AM FINANCIALLY SECURE. CAN I STILL BUY A BOX?

Please note that Good Food at your Doorstep is a temporary emergency fresh food delivery service in response to the current COVID-19 circumstances. The service is intended to support households who currently have limited financial and physical access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables.

If you have the financial means, we would greatly appreciate any support you could offer! To donate a box to a family in need, please visit our website and select “Donate a Box”.

I DON’T HAVE A DEBIT OR A CREDIT CARD. CAN I PURCHASE A BOX WITH CASH?

Unfortunately, we are not accepting cash payments at this time.

CAN I ORDER A BOX OVER THE PHONE?

If you do not have access to the internet and would like to place an order, please call us at (613) 860-6767 and leave a message with your full name and a call-back number.

Customers who wish to order over the phone MUST have a credit card.

We will return your call as soon as possible. We will be calling from a private number so please answer!

WHEN CAN I ORDER MY BOX?

You can order a box at any time on our website. Order deadlines are every Thursday at 11:59PM.

Once you place an order please visit our Delivery Days webpage to find out when your box will be delivered

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED ANY ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAILS.

Our system automatically sends our customers a confirmation email upon purchase. Please check your junk or spam mail for an email from Ottawa Good Food Box (no-reply@my.store-emails.com).

If you cannot find any email from the above address, our apologies. Please connect with us through our contact form to inquire whether we can still help you access fresh produce at this difficult time. 

I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO PAY FOR MY ORDER. PLEASE HELP!

We apologize for this problem. We are trying to fix this quickly. If you do encounter any problems, however, try using PayPal to finish placing your order. 


If you still have trouble, please, contact us using your contact form.

WHAT AREAS OF OTTAWA IS GOOD FOOD AT YOUR DOORSTEP ABLE TO DELIVER TO?

We are currently delivering only to households within the Ottawa area. Unfortunately, we cannot serve households with the following postal codes at this time:
K1X, K2K, K2M, K2R, K2S, K2T, K2V, K2W, K4C, K4M, K4P, and K0A.


PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE YOUR ORDER IF YOUR POSTAL CODE IS LISTED ABOVE.

It may take up to 7 days to refund your money.

WHAT IF I LIVE OUTSIDE OF YOUR DELIVERY AREA?

We apologize that we cannot deliver to your area. Please fill out our contact form and send us your full name, email address and postal code. We will get in touch with you if and when we start to deliver to your area.

ARE THERE PICK-UP LOCATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE DELIVERY AREAS?

We are not offering pick-up locations at this time to prevent crowding.

If you’ve placed an order, we will be sending you email notifications on Mondays to provide you with more information about when your box will be delivered. We ask that you monitor your email inboxes (including junk/spam!) for any email from “Ottawa Good Food Box".

MY DELIVERY IS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE TODAY AND I LIVE IN A HOUSE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

On your designated delivery day, we ask that you monitor your email inboxes (including junk/spam!) for delivery updates from “Ottawa Good Food Box”.


You will receive an email 30 approximately minutes before your order is due to be delivered. Please be waiting for your delivery to arrive but we kindly ask that you respect a distance of 6 feet from our drivers.


We are only offering “no-contact” deliveries at this time. Our delivery drivers will leave your purchase outside of your doorstep and you will receive another email notifying you that your delivery was successful!

MY DELIVERY IS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE TODAY AND I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

On your designated delivery day, we ask that you monitor your email inboxes (including junk/spam!) for delivery updates from “Ottawa Good Food Box”.


You will receive an email 30 approximately minutes before your order is due to be delivered. Please be waiting outside or in your building’s lobby for your delivery to arrive. We kindly ask that you respect a distance of 6 feet from our drivers.

We are only offering “no-contact” deliveries at this time. Our delivery drivers will leave your purchase in your building’s lobby or outside the building if they can’t access the lobby. You will receive another email notifying you that your delivery was successful! Your number and unit number will be written on the box.

WHAT COMES IN A $20 BOX?

Our $20 boxes will contain 8-10 varieties of fruits and vegetables. Here's an example of a box:

  • 4 navel oranges

  • 4 Bartlett pears

  • 1.5 lbs bananas

  • 4 Empire apples

  • 5 lbs red potatoes

  • 1 head of broccoli

  • 1 bunch of green onions

  • 1 pint of grape tomatoes

  • 2 lbs onions

  • 2 lbs carrots

(Please note that the above is an example. Be aware that the same items and/or quantities will not be included in each of our weekly boxes.)

CAN I EXPECT LOCAL PRODUCE IN THE BOX?

The Ottawa Good Food Box and the MarketMobile always try to support local farmers when the price is right! The majority of farmers don’t have much produce to sell us at this time of the year but we are buying local apples from Halls Apple Market.

WILL THE BOXES CONTAIN ORGANIC PRODUCE?

We decide what the contents of our boxes will be based on what’s the best “bang for your buck”. There may occasionally be organic fruit and vegetables in the boxes, but we cannot guarantee that all of the box contents will be organic.

WHERE DOES GOOD FOOD AT YOUR DOORSTEP  BUY FRESH PRODUCE FROM?

We are sourcing from our regular wholesale suppliers including North House Foods, Aenos Foods, J. Quatrrochi & Co. Ltd., Émile Péloquin Biologique and Halls Apple Market.

During the growing season, we also source fresh produce from Barkleys Apple Orchard, Ferme Chapeau Melon and Fermes aux Pleines Saveurs; however, these farms do not currently have any produce for sale at the moment.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE MY BOX’S CONTENTS?

Unfortunately, our boxes are not customizable. Specific requests and substitutions are unavailable. If you are allergic to certain fruits or vegetables, we kindly suggest that you donate those items to a friend or a family who could use them.

HOW DO I DONATE A BOX?

There are two options for donating boxes.

  1. To donate to an anonymous household, please visit Share Some Good: Donate a Box. These donations will be delivered to a household who has reached out requesting help with accessing fresh food.

  2. To donate to a specific household, please visit Buy a Box. Please include the delivery address of whom you would like the box to be delivered to and their phone number. (You will still be required to input your billing address.)
